Going on a tour of the Canadian Rockies is a fantastic way to really explore some of the most beautiful sights that the entire world has to offer. Few things really look quite so fantastic as mountains, and they are something to really see and behold if you’ve never seen them before. You just won’t believe the size and the grandeur that they offer, and it’s really amazing to be so up and close to such a large natural structure. Plus there are a couple ways in which you can take Canadian Rockies tours to explore the mountains in just the way that you want.
Basically the two methods are always going to be on foot with walking and hiking tours, or through a train tour as well. Both afford you different ways to see the entirety of Canada, and they are going to offer you a few different things depending upon the type of journey that you’re to take. With a walking tour, you get to experience the mountains firsthand, and really get a good look and feel of the area like you just wouldn’t have anywhere else. But with a train tour, you get to see much more of the mountains, and you’re able to take a look at them from all sides in just one trip, which you’re just not able to do when you’re walking the surface.
For that reason you want to figure out just the type of tour you want to take most, and here are the options that you’ll find commonly provided by both:
1) Walking tours of the Canadian Rockies
There are quite a few walking tours that allow you to choose just how you want to be able to see Canada, and here are a few of the more common and popular:
-Backroads
This is a six day tour that starts off in Alberta, Canada, and that ends in the same place so you basically go full circle. The entirety of the trip includes fantastic vies of the Canadian wilderness, in addition to up close vies of the Rockies like you couldn’t get without being right on them. Moreover, you’re also going to be able to see glaciers up close and personal as well, which can really be a fantastic site to behold.
-American Adventures
Despite American being in the name, this is a tour that goes throughout Seattle all the way up into the Rockies in Canada, and well beyond. Plus it’s a tour that encompasses a great view of Mount Robson, which is the highest peak. Plus you can also find that these types of tours involve other great activities as well, such as whitewater rafting, canoeing and even hiking of all sorts.
-Country Walkers
Another tour out of Alberta, that features a six day journey similar to that of Backroads. But here you’ll find a tour more made for those that aren’t used to the rigors of hiking. What not everyone realizes is that hiking of this type can be really brutal on the body when you’re not totally fit, or just aren’t used to what it really entails. This is a much leisurely trip with only 4 to 8 mile excursions, so that you’re not pressured into going further than what you’re comfortable with.
2) Train Canadian Rockies tours
There are several different types of train tours of the fantastic Rockies, and this is more about choosing the right style of trip that you want to take.
-National Park packages
These are tours that take you all across the rockies, but that also go in and out of the different national parks in the area. That gives you a much more broad view of the area for a Canadian vacation, so that you can really visit some of the most beautiful locals beyond just the mountains themselves.
-Historic resorts and town tours
These are trips that involve hitting some of Canada’s most famous resorts for vacationing as well as some of it’s oldest and most historic towns. This way, you can also get connected with the people of Canada, in addition to seeing all the sites that are going to be on offer throughout your journey.
